Guts, Feathers, and All: Stories of Hard Work and Good Times on Swan’s Island, ME was written for the Swan's Island History Society and published by Island Institute. After a fire destroyed the town library and historical archive in 2008, the community sought to rebuild a record of their history. With the help of Island Institute and many volunteers, Meghan Vigeant documented the island's history through oral history interviews. This book is a result of those interviews. There are ten profiles of Swan's Islanders and their unique island stories. Here is sample chapter:
